I'd be happy to help add a POIService for Turbine.  I don't use Turbine, 
but I'll answer any questions, etc that you might have.

That being said, you should check with the Turbine folks to see if they 
want one.  Otherwise the best we could offer would be to let it live in 
contrib (which implies its not really part of a project and is somewhat 
unsupported).
