I'm a lazy guy (c.f Slobberbone ), I did the basic Java course 18 months ago but without a real project to use it on I haven't used it. Thing was I was really excited about the prospect of getting back to a proper programming language, O-O and even using UML. Unfortunately the market died and there just weren't opportunities for neophyte Java developers wibble, wibble... Thanks to everyone for those pointers.
