Can the POI classes be efficiently used in a web app to determine if a byte stream is a Word doc? We can check the first 8 bytes to for whether it's an OLE 2 document, but if so, it could also be an Excel worksheet. We need to differentiate and it seems that POI may be able to help. Any tips on how to do this check most efficiently, and which Word versions it would be valid for, would be hugely appreciated. Thanks, Andrew
