Good news... I'll likely be running into this bug shortly...so I'll probably fix it.

(assuming its not one of those strange things that happens only when one runs under a certain heavy appserver that always seems to find the JDK bugs and introduce its own ;-) )

Bummer. I need 1.8 or better to have the setMargin functions. (is that
right?).

INFORMATION FROM ANOTHER USER: Using 1.5.1 I am able to read in a

template

xls file
that contains an image, then write more stuff to the file, and write out

the

file successfully.
I believe that this does not work with 1.8.

It would be great if you can submit the before and after spreadsheets to
bugzilla (including the java program that mangled it). Also would be
beneficial to note the version used.

Hopefully when http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=15375
gets addressed your problem will be fixed too.

thanks.

I had asked last week about adding an image to a spreadsheet via POI.

I

have since created a template file, and when I open it, write to it,

and

close it, the resulting spreadsheet is unreadable. I have attached the
resulting spreadsheet.
