INFORMATION FROM ANOTHER USER: Using 1.5.1 I am able to read in atemplate
xls filethe
that contains an image, then write more stuff to the file, and write out
Ifile successfully. I believe that this does not work with 1.8.

It would be great if you can submit the before and after spreadsheets to bugzilla (including the java program that mangled it). Also would be beneficial to note the version used.
Hopefully when http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=15375 gets addressed your problem will be fixed too.
thanks.

I had asked last week about adding an image to a spreadsheet via POI.
andhave since created a template file, and when I open it, write to it,
------------------------------------------------------------------------close it, the resulting spreadsheet is unreadable. I have attached the resulting spreadsheet.
