Understood. Just fyi - we already have a structure where we create XML for our reports and query results, then near the last step, transform it via xslt to html, xsl:fo->pdf and now gmr:->.xls file. So the serializer fits in quite nicely to our existing setup. We'd rather not have to write the logic to create reports directly through POI.
