Subtotals in HSSF

I note that "Outlines" are not yet supported for HSSF 
(http://jakarta.apache.org/poi/hssf/limitations.html).
Does this apply also to "Subtotals" (ie functionality of Data | 
Subtotals... in Excel 2000)?
