I'll try to explain, I have the german language version of excel here so
I'll have to translate menu names, I hope not too much will get "lost in
translation" :-)
To make a group of cells appear on every page when printing, open the
"File" menu, then "Page setup", then the "Table" tab. There is a section
called "Print title", and the first field is called something like "Repeat
header line" ("Wiederholungszeile oben" in german). Here one can chose a
line of cells that will appear on every page when printing.
hth, if that doesn't work with HSSF out of the box, I'd also be glad for
some hints where to look at what in the sources...
