HSSFRichTextString use

Hi;

 

Two final (I hope) questions about HSSFRichTextString. 

1.      Is this how Excel normally stores rich text in a xls file? It seems
like a weird way to do this. 
2.      Does it support the \img tag which would provide a way to include
images.
