Hi. Use the sc-dev list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). They're focussed on the Excel pendant (spreadsheet) which can read Excel files.
In other OOo lists you might receive an avalanche of messages. At sc-dev you mainly have tiny traffic. At the very least, if you can get the OO guys to figure out exactly why OO is crashing (eg, on which record), we can then possibly try to work around it in POI.
