When reading an Excel sheet, using POI, a "General Number" cell format in Excel, becomes a Numeric format in HSSF. A value of 45 becomes 45.0, a value 10000000 becomes 10E6. Any one can advice me on how to retrieve the value more correctly?? I am now using JExcel but it's much too slow. Ideally I want to be able to retrieve everything as a String, because I write everything out as CSV, then to be converted to Hibernate ORM.
