Hi Mike. Use e.g. -Xmx256m for extending your Java VM to 256 MB.
Where to put it depends on your tool. Such questions have been often asked in the list. In the user model the whole file is analyzed and memory structures are built up. Just in the event model you'ld save memory. Regards, Karl-Heinz. -----Ursprngliche Nachricht----- Von: Mike Serra [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Gesendet: Sonntag, 20. I understand that there are memory issues with POI, but I didn't think it was that bad. Is there any workaround for this? If performance with POI-Ruby would be significantly better, I might simply port the whole app to Ruby. Has anyone had any experience with this? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mailing List: http://jakarta.apache.org/site/mail2.html#poi The Apache Jakarta Poi Project: http://jakarta.apache.org/poi/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mailing List: http://jakarta.apache.org/site/mail2.html#poi The Apache Jakarta Poi Project: http://jakarta.apache.org/poi/
