No. RTF is not an OLE 2 Compound Document Format (hence the header error), nor is it a closed format, nor even binary and there are plenty of libraries that can read/write it. POI only covers "nitch" formats (OLE 2 Compound Document based).

Hi All,

There is any possibilities to read .rtf files using POI.

I used POIFSReader to get the summary information from rtf files.
I got error messages like this:
"java.io.IOException: Invalid header signature; read
7015536635646467195, expected -2226271756974174256".

How to resolve it.

Regards,
Suri.
