From here, it looks like things were pretty well defined. If IE got
the same thing, I would expect it to work.

Can you check exactly what headers are getting sent? (Live HTTP
headers in mozilla/firefox, or tcpdump/ethereal)
I've had problems in the past with Tomcat where I set the content
type, forwarded to another page, and tomcat somehow forgot the content
type. I ended up having to set it twice.
So, if you can check your headers, you might just spot something wrong
with them that you can fix with a big stick
