Hi Ben.
POI works on binary level for Excel 97 (working for up to 2000).
I keep seeing this. I have tested on Excel 2003 and didn't see any
issues? What problems are people seeing?
So you could test 2 things:
1. Can you open your files from the Mac with such a Windows Excel? What
do you see when you choose "Save as"?
2. Can you save your files on the Mac with Excel97 format. If yes it's
quite likely that you also can open them in that format. If that's
successful then also POI should work for you as desired.

I am on a Mac. works fine on Excel 2004.

Hi all,
I'm trying to write a simple java app which reads and writes excel
files. My question is pretty simple: Does POI work with Excel for Mac?
The version it should run on is "Excel for Mac X Service Release 1" .
Any experience with that?
Thanks a lot for your help!
Ben
