Dear all,

I am happy to announce version 1.0.3 of the Polipo HTTP proxy, which
you will find in

  http://www.pps.jussieu.fr/~jch/software/files/polipo/polipo-1.0.3.tar.gz
  http://www.pps.jussieu.fr/~jch/software/files/polipo/polipo-1.0.3.tar.gz.asc

For more information about Polipo, please see

  http://www.pps.jussieu.fr/~jch/software/polipo/

The main new feature is support for logging to syslog (due to Nix, to
whom many thanks); please see the config variable logSyslog.

Incompatible changes:

  - the amount of chunk memory is now computed as either one quarter
    of physical memory or 24 MB, whichever is less;
  - Polipo will now allow tunnelling of Git, Jabber and CVS by default.

If you care about these changes, please override them in your config
file by setting chunkHighMark and tunnelAllowedPorts respectively.

Enjoy,

                                        Juliusz
6 October 2007: Polipo 1.0.3

Changed the default for chunkMemory: it is now 24 MB or
one-quarter of physical memory, whichever is smaller.
Support for logging to syslog (thanks to Nix).
Made atom reference counts 32-bit longs; this should fix
problems that people were seeing when running Polipo with
        humongous in-memory caches.
Added Git, Jabber and CVS to default tunnelAllowedPorts.
Fixed a bug that could cause URL matching to fail when using
anchored regular expressions (thanks to phuel).
