-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 hi i've got the polipo-1.0.4-win32 by phobos installed as a service and i also use it with tor-0.2.0.26-rc.
now, it seems that polipo is somehow caching, even though i've got 'diskCacheRoot=""'. sorry, this is very bizarre to me. i haven't made any changes to the system that i am aware, so i'm not sure why i'm noticing this now. but, for example, i noticed today while downloading the latest version of foxit reader, the download would complete instantly when i tried to download a second time. this was happening in firefox, but the same behavior is happening with plain old wget. the download occurred normally the first time, then i removed the downloaded file and issued the same wget command, and the download completed instantly (check the times and download speeds). i tried downloading other files from different sites, for example phobos's polipo-1.0.4.0-win32.exe, and the same thing happened. i even issued a new circuit signal to tor between each wget command. when i restart polipo, the download occurs normally. the output below should clarify. so, that is why i think polipo is the culprit. however, i have no idea where these cached files are coming from. i checked in the directory polipo.exe is in, temporary directories in \windows and ~\local settings\, ~\application data\. i even tried "find / -size 327649c". so, i don't know. i'm sorry if i'm crazy. please help. $ wget http://interloper.org/tmp/polipo/polipo-1.0.4.0-win32.exe - --04:36:52-- http://interloper.org/tmp/polipo/polipo-1.0.4.0-win32.exe => `polipo-1.0.4.0-win32.exe' Connecting to 127.0.0.1:8123... connected.
