There are a number of known bugs in Polipo 1.0.4 (the latest released
version). The current snapshot has fixed all but one of the known
crashes, and I really should think about releasing it as 1.0.5.
Unfortunately, I've also introduced one new bug in the current tree
(the local configuration interface is broken), and I should fix it
before I release. And it's a rather busy time for me (for reasons
related to Real Work).
So please hold on, 1.0.5 should be out shortly and should fix the
issues that you're seeing.
