Hi,
I am having problems when accessing url www.thestar.com. The site is a major Canadian News Paper, so kind of rule out it as a problem of the site. Often the pages on the browser don't finish right comparing to direct access without polipo. I track down the problem to "repeatedly accessing an URL by HEAD method". Here is the request: HEAD http://www.thestar.com/js/functions.js?3276.464859410217 HTTP/1.0 Host: www.thestar.com User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.16) Gecko/20080715 Fedora/2.0.0.16-1.fc8 Firefox/2.0.0.16 Accept: text/xml,application/xml,application/xhtml+xml,text/html;q=0.9,text/plain;q=0.8,image/png,*/*;q=0.5 Accept-Language: en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive: 300 Proxy-Connection: keep-alive Referer: http://www.thestar.com/ Cookie: __utma=129518793.1057491470.1214242845.1216815417.1216821165.30; __utmz=129518793.1214242845.1.1.utmccn=(direct)|utmcsr=(direct)|utmcmd=(none); s_vi=[CS]v1|485FE0B300000DB9-A3A084200001A7F[CE]; BIGipServerTops_II_web_thestar=779069632.20480.0000; s_cc=true; s_sq=%5B%5BB%5D%5D Proxy-Authorization: Basic Zm1pbmc6RmlyZXdhbGw= After a few consecutive tries of the request, I start to get error reply like this: HTTP/1.1 500 OK Connection: keep-alive Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2008 14:03:23 GMT Content-Type: text/html Content-Length: 1190 Expires: 0 Cache-Control: no-cache Pragma: no-cache I dig into the polipo cache and find this file of size 2048 HTTP/1.1 200 OK Content-Length: 21653 ETag: "07bd1f9b1ac91:a3b1" Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2008 13:52:16 GMT Last-Modified: Fri, 19 Sep 2008 21:03:10 GMT Via: 1.1 proxy Content-Type: application/x-javascript Accept-Ranges: bytes Server: Microsoft-IIS/6.0 P3P: CP="CAO DSP COR CURa ADMa DEVa TAIa OUR BUS IND PHY ONL UNI COM NAV INT DEM" X-Powered-By: ASP.NET X-Polipo-Location: http://www.thestar.com/js/functions.js?3276.464859410217 X-Polipo-Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2008 13:53:16 GMT X-Polipo-Access: Wed, 29 Oct 2008 14:03:23 GMT X-Polipo-Body-Offset: 2048 Anyone has an insight into this problem?
