Have you guys been observing the latest events taking place in Kenya?

The President, Mwai Kibaki, inherited a mess from Daniel Arap Moi. There
was a lot of corruption and Moi seems to have gotten involved with
international loan sharks and money launderers after the World Bank and
the IMF screwed Kenya.
Anyhow, there is a very big push to straighten things out and a lot of
names are being named. It looks as if the veep might have to go bye bye.
So the prez met with one minister and the Standard Newspaper reported
that the two had met.
Wrong move.

Three Standard journalists were instantly detained and warrants were
issued for the arrests of four more. And then, it happened.
A simultaneous al-qaeda-style raid on the Standard and an independent
TV station led by persons wearing ski masks, who commanded an elite
group of Kenyan cops known as the rescue squad. The entire episode was
captured on some hidden closed circuit TV monitors and tape, and it was
later noted that the holes in the ski mask showed white skin.
So who were these mercenaries?
They were quickly identified as Russians, no Czechs, no - make that Arab
businessmen from Dubai, and now they are Armenians who are nephews
of the Prime Minister, make that the President of Armenia, make that a
presidential candidate and his brother since the uncle cannot run again,
except that the Armenians say that only one passport is registered in
Armenia. The other mouthy one seems to be from India. Maybe. Plus their
passports say that they are about 33 and 36 and they look at least ten
years older than that.
Cerebral palsy will do that to a fellow. Just ask the New Zealanders.

Anyhow, the Kenyans are furious at the idea of mercenaries roaming loose
in Kenya, and, quite frankly, they want them dead. Or gone.
Meanwhile the State Department ,and them Christian folks, seems to be
backing up a Dr. Merlyn Kettering who has been active in Sudan.
And the Kenyan veep in question has a brother who came in third in the
last Ugandan presidential elections. This is very unusual, since we all
know where that damn border is. They are of the same basic ethnic stock
as was John Garang.
The US State Department seems to pushing Kenya to adapt "anti-terrorism"
measures such as a terrorist database, weird passports and other crap
that the Homeland security and DARPA keep coming up with. Kettering
seems to be the go to guy. He draws up contracts for non-existent
companies, takes the money and runs off until it is time to go collect
another payment. Kettering is extremely well connected inside and
outside Kenya and he generally gets his way while riding in high style.
Some Swiss dude, Michel Gruring also seems to have his fingers in the pie.

What I want to know is why that meeting was so secret that these
mercenaries were brought in to torch newspapers and smash the press and
take a TV station off the air merely for reporting that it had taken
place. Who else was present? What did they discuss?

Remember Garang? They said he met with the Ugandan prez, but somehow
most accounts omit the presence of the American, Norwegian and I think
French ambassadors, at that same meeting. Among others. Garang must have
said something they didn't like because he never made it off that
helicopter alive. Not that it was a big loss to all peace-loving people
on the planet.

Anyhow, it is worth a look, if only for the fact that these louts seem
to use Kenya as a place to run their dress rehearsals before trying
their crap out elsewhere.
