Yes, I noticed this before. I keep doing it. Vowel alliteration? OK two
"o's". Maybe I get conflicting visual infos sometimes,

html> wrong visual clues?

I can't stand people who misspell other people's names! It's utterly
impolite and negligent. They deserve to roast in hell!

But concerning MSM. I am not so sure? What do the habits of the average
US citizen look like? I remember a series of chats - cia-drugs off list
- with a part time air controller, who also worked in some privatized
animal disease laboratory, whose name I forget

html> , close to NYC? Daily? that means a lot of time for travel too.
Maybe he wasn't quite the average guy? How many turn on their TV the
moment they enter their home since they consider this relaxing, and
don't question what they are fed? Being informed has a strong time
component too.

That's why it still works: Remember the latest poll about Saddam and
WMD? The problem is, if you aren't in the writing business it needs
much of your time, time the average person won't or can't waste.

I remember it was pretty startling in TV sciences to watch all channels
pick exactly the same news as newsworthy, based on the news factors,
professional? - maybe- including the respective completely
interchangeable film clips. Someone descends from an airplane. Cars
arrive somewhere. Then ceremonial hand shakes.

But I am very, very pleased to see you are SOOOO utterly patient with
me, the misspelling champ. ;)

James Wolcott. I noticed, I had to concentrate; but now I think, I
finally got the message. ;)

misspellings I let pass; your English is much more polished than my

Internet is pulling the rug out from under them. Mainstream media
pundits are suffering from the delusion that they were hired for their
talent. On the contrary, the billionaires who have controlled the
mainstream media selected them for their mediocrity and pliability, for
their utter absence of independent thinking, for their usefulness in
protecting and advancing the financial interests of the
oligarchy/plutocracy which owns the media. These sad sacks, like Joe
Klein, are now in a state of free fall, as they are forced to confront
better minds on a level playing field, without a system rigged for the
benefit of a handful of oligarchs to prop them up. Their cries of
anguish about the unfairness of it all are amusing. Very few current
mainstream media pundits will be able to acquire and hold an audience in
the new Internet Age -- they are not competitive.
