The issue with work and wages is complicated and just because I am a
socialist doesn't mean I believe in a free ride. "Each to his own
needs, each to his own capabilities", in other words socialism also
believes you are obliged to work for what you get. However, workers
are not obliged, nor in fact should they work for slave wages that
McDonalds and Wal Mart etc pay, and yes are migrants are found doing
those jobs all over the world, but it is not just because the locals
won't do these jobs for the pittance they are paid, it is because
employers use migrant labor as they are willing to work for less
therefore driving down the wages of the wider community. As I
mentioned workers have been played off one against the other driving
down wages on an international scale since the advent of the
intergration of globalized production, accounting for the rise in
company profits, CEO wages and the destruction of working conditions.

At some point you can't just accept any job. You have to say I want to
be paid for what I am worth and I want a job that gives me some sort
of secure future. I am not just a commodity to be hired and discarded
at the employers whim. The callibre of work, education and culture
have all been attacked, we are not machines, we are human beings
