They’re obsessed about sex, and it is reflected in their target selections. Terrorists from the al Qaeda and ISIS/Daesh streams of thought are not merely obsessed with sex, they are like 13-year old boys in the full grip of pubescent hormones. Remember Osama Bin Laden’s massive porn collection? Or ISIS’ reintroduction of sex-slavery and concubinage? Dreams of their 72 virgins have driven many a suicide bomber to seek his martyrdom. >From the 1989 Ecole Polytechnique Massacre in Montreal to the bombing in Manchester, Islamists have repeatedly attacked self-confident young women; women who seek to educate themselves, dance in public, and travel. In the Jihadist world-view, women are to be submissive and compliant, and available (in numbers) for the Jihadists. One cannot imagine ETA, the Red Army Faction, or the Shining Path consulting clerics for rulings about turning female captives into sex-slaves, but Jihadists certainly do… frequently. Think about the 2002 Bali Bombing, the attempted firebombing of a UK nightclub in London’s Haymarket district, or the special attention devoted to women in the Bataclan Theatre in Paris in November 1915. Women who go to nightclubs must be punished for their daring and effrontery; they should have been patiently waiting for the attentions of the Jihadist. Of course, one need not be a fully-fledged Jihadist to wait to punish women who do not fit the Fundamentalist model of modest decorum. Rape is a growing problem in much of Europe and – no matter the dictates of political correctness – the culprits are readily identifiable to the public anyway. Of course, we are also not allowed to talk about cultural problems either these days… which is why the Rotherham rape gang problem has evaded a full discussion in the UK. So why attack an Ariana Grande concert? What did Grande possibly represent? She is a self-confident and very talented pop artist with an impressive voice, popular with young girls but still suitable for a family outing – as some of the Manchester victims demonstrate. To a Jihadist, Grande would be attractive yet offensive, unattainable but hypothetically there to be taken. Moreover, she is a dangerous example to tens or hundreds of thousands of other young girls… But to a Jihadist, there is a way of resolving this conflict. Moreover, once translated to the status of a Shaheed, perhaps one of the 72 waiting virgins will look just like Ms. Grande. The easy self-confidence of so many young women is one of the highest attainments of our society, and one that draws the fiercest ire of the perpetual adolescents of Salafist Islam.
