Morpheal’s Commentary - July 20th, 2009 - Financial Crisis in Public
Healthcare, HIV Endangers All of Humanity, 40 Years After the Moonwalk
- What Next ?, and British Military in Conflict with Downing Street

National Health in Financial Crisis ? - There is a Long Term Cure

It would take some investment to tackle long term funding problems of
NHS and all similar systems in other nations. What it requires is a
computer system, able to function in real time, as an expert system,
providing accurate, step by step, protocols for diagnosis and
treatment of most common illnesses. The system would allow nurse
practitioners to join doctors in front line diagnosis and treatment,
constraining all practitioners to best, most effective up to date,
thus economical, modalities.

Continued Spread of HIV - Could Destroy Humanity

Until there is effective vaccine or cure, only the strictest enforced
legal measures and penalties would suffice to stop spread of HIV.
Failure to be tested, if at risk, and being guilty of spreading the
disease to others, must become a most serious crime. The growing
danger with increase in HIV cases is viral mutation into a more
aggressive, tougher, strain that spreads as readily as common flu
virus. Mutation into that form is more probable with every new HIV
case and could destroy humanity.

The number of viral organisms produced by one carrier multiplied by
the number of carriers of the illness, factored by even the most
conservative mutation rates for viral organisms, provides the most
terrifying scenario of potential damage to the human species of any
known scenario, as to a contagious illness, existing on Earth today.
We know enough science to recognize the need for effective measures to
immediately halt the spread of HIV / AIDS, without any further
concerns for the false liberties that some fear would be infringed
upon in an effective, enforceable campaign, worldwide, to halt the
most dangerous illness on Earth. The probabilities of viable, more
dangerous, mutation of the HIV organism, are high and growing higher
every hour.

40 Years After the Moonwalk - What Next ?

We must remember a sense of disbelief and amazement when a human
being landed on, and walked on the moon. It was incredible that it
could be done, such a short time after doubts, a few decades
previously, as to a man being able to survive fighter jet g force, and
then the news of first satellites orbited in the 1950s. What we need
now is restoration of faith in progress, with development of a
radically new propulsion system, that will launch first AI "manned"
probes to distant stars.

British Military In Conflict with Downing Street

BBC Reports: “General Sir Richard Dannatt told the BBC troops "needed
more" and added that he would be compiling a shopping list of what was
required. “

When commanders in the field ask for equipment, they ought to receive
that equipment. The only role that politicians ought to play in
response to such requests, is to assure that those requests are
filled, as quickly as possible. There are no other valid criteria for
responsible, and effective, conduct of military actions, in relation
to politically approved military objectives. Something has gone
seriously wrong when politicians are dictating to command in the field
what it needs to do the job.
