The constant stream of lies and false accusations aimed at President
Obama by the Bush Republicans have turned the American political
system into a travesty. The die-hard, extreme right-wing conservatives
who believe this propoganda need to learn to seek the truth, not
blindly support the leaders of the most corrupt political party in the
history of this country.
For starters, the current economic situation developed during the Bush
Administration. Obama was handed the most difficult situation this
country has experienced since the Great Depression. The greed and
corruption of Bush and Company caused the financial collapse and their
practice of Supply Side Economics swelled the National Debt to over
$10 trillion. The cost of the ill-conceived Iraq and Afghanistan wars
cost America $1 trillion.
The bailouts were Bush's idea! He originally requested Congress to
approve $1.6 trillion in bailouts, mostly to save the financial and
insurance organizations that have so ardently supported the
Republicans for so many years. And they have the audacity to accuse
Obama of advocating socialism. He is actually supporting the people,
instead of Big Business, like the Republicans.
For example, here are some of the bailouts originally proposed by
Bush:
Bear Stearns: $30 billion
Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac: $400 billion
Citigroup: $280 billion
American International Group (A.I.G.) $180 billion
Auto Industry: $25 billion
Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP): $700 billion
