Obama and his Congressional gang are so ashamed and fearful of the House Bill creating ObamaCare, that they set the effective date, conveniently, just far enough in the future to get (they hope) Obama elected for his second term, and success (again they hope) in Congressional races in 2010 AND 2012. Consider this analysis:

It is the same pattern of childish behavior from him now that he so often displayed during his years in the Illinois State Senate. Tonight, he says passing some form of a government-run health plan or some hybrid is so urgent, mind you, that unless Congress acts at once "more will die." And the Left had the gall to attack Sarah Palin for pointing out how one of the House Democratic bills contained a provision to counsel old people in a way so as to encourage them to move on and she dared to call these panels "death panels" The Left screamed that Palin was trying to scare people. But not President Obama who likes to project an image of "Mr. Cool" even as he hides the fact that he does not have a clue how to let a free market turn our economy around. Now President Barack Obama has the 14 karat chutzpah to look Americans in the eye and tell them "more will die" if his grab bag of nutty health policy ideas are not passed immediately? As Thomas Sowell asked yesterday, if the Democratic healh insurance "reforms" are so incredibly urgent that "more will die" if the bills don't pass, then how come they delay the effective date of the bills until the year 2013? Do the Democrats not care about anyone who might die before the next presidential election as long as the death cannot be blamed on their rationing? With no plan for thousands of new doctors or hospital rooms, Left-wing Democrats want to cover 50 millon new people who have before this chosen not to be covered and pay out of pocket or who stayed healthy. The Democrats want to delay the effective date of their socialist bill so it cannot collapse on them during the 2012 election campaign. President Obama has toured the world and Martha's Vinyard in the last four months but, what he has NOT ever done before tonight is send his own specific proposal to Congress and clearly state what his goals are. How many people died in the last four months of this emergency while Obama could not make up his mind as to which of the crazy socilaist schemes he wanted to endorse? Even tonight, "Mr. Cool" will waffle for a few more days while Democratic leaders try to count votes. But you have to admire their "compassion" for the uninsured people, right?
