Nick stood by the bed either
looking around the room or staring at the bathroom door. "Yes, I still use that
brand, there's nothing wrong with it," he told her before she ducked back into
the bathroom.
Nick nodded a little then watched her hop around trying to get the socks on. This would probably be funny or maybe something to laugh at if he was actually in a mood to laugh. "Sorry for what?" Sits down on the bed, keeping his gaze on Julia. "For dying? Why would you feel sorry for that? It wasn't you're fault. Its only your fault when you are the one that caused the death. So if you're thinking that I'm mad at you for anything, stop thinking it." "For the pain." she said quietly,
seeing the fact it had hurt him in his eyes and the way he... he was keeping a
kind of emotional distance from her. Knowing Nick like she did she could
well imagine what he had gone through -- and that it was all coming back to him
now because she was back. She wished she could just erase it all away and
see that boyish grin again, without the hint of pain now in his brown
eyes. She sighed and put her forehead against his "And you were
probably mad as hell at Derek...." She was pretty sure he would have
been. Nick was in charge of security and it had always been his policy
that when faced with that level of danger, partner up. But at the time,
and with the urgency of finding the girl... it would have been impossible to
cover that much ground and partner up between three people.
Had the roles been reversed.... it
would have killed a part of her if he had been the one that died that
day....
