The glazed look on her face spoke volumes. Ria stared into her own face and
tried to formulate a question, but could do nothing but mouth the words, no
sound coming from her lips. The head was covered in blood and the face was
almost indistinguishable.  The maggots crawled on the skin and nested in her
eyes and mouth. Ria wanted to scream to find out why this was happening to
her.  She never remembered being this scared before not even with any of the
journalist stories she had reported in the past.  However, she never
remembered feeling this alone and separate from the world.  A hand reached
out to trace the letters on the page clutched on the hand.  Ria did not know
if it was her own or some figment of her imagination. She did not know what
was real. ~Where am I? Who am I?~ her mind screamed.  The quicksand was
holding her like a vice grip.  Angrily, Ria wanted to reach out and rip
herself from the nightmare.  No muscle would move.  Her head began bobbing in
the sand and Ria looked on at horror, out of herself, at the remainder of her
body, a solitary head grinning maniacally at the disemboweled corpses
surrounding her.
