Lani couldn't help but smile wryly at Kat's description of the book. Her
life certainly wasn't composed of tea and those houses. Honshu's countryside
was much more dangerous than it appeared. Tokyo was a fast, crowded city that
seemed more alive at night. Perhaps that was because of Lani's connections,
she wasn't really sure. She had been to the states several times before, but
had never lived here. Merrick wasn't happy here, but she suspected it had
something to do with his colorful past. "Oh, I love Japan. It's where I grew
up. There are people I care about in Tokyo, but something different every
once in a while is nice to experience. I've been to California before, but
usually only a few days at a time." she admitted. She had never had time to
go sight seeing.
