OM:
"Can... can I?" Patrick asked quietly as he instinctively reached for their
joined hands, knowing what Julia intended but hesitating just the same.

Julia kept her focus on Rachel and managed a gentle smile "It won't hurt...
but I have someone that wants to talk to you..."

With that she nodded at Patrick and he placed his hand on top of their
joined ones. He had seen Derek come in, but couldn't look away from Rachel.
He had tried talking to her that last time, during Christmas and now he was
going to be able to.

A small miracle in itself and something he would treasure for all time,
along with all of the other memories he had of his family.

The air about them stilled in a gentle way and Julia looked once into
Rachel's eyes to give her a quiet, assuring smile before closing her own.

Then... with the air slightly shifting and almost moving into itself but
without stirring an object, where there were two hands there were now three.

Julia poured more energy into the link, her dark brows puckered slightly in
concentration and focus and the arm and then the rest of the form slowly
formed.

And Rachel was able to see Patrick smiling back at her in gentle greeting.

His usual laughing eyes were soft and loving and his lips curved mirroring
the expression.

Julia would leave it to Derek to know whether to stay or leave during this
private time -- or Rachel to ask him to. She was just going to concentrate
on giving Rachel and Patrick as much time as she could without exhausting
her energy.

Rachel
I felt a wave of calm flood through me as I watched Julia carefully. I
wasn't sure what she was doing, but any fear I had was quelled by her
reassuring countenance. I sighed softly as I felt a distinct change in the
air, a familiar scent drifted towards me. I blinked for a moment trying to
place the smell, and then my brow furrowed in remembrance, the dull pain in
my heart reminding me of the person I once was. I drew a sharp breath as I
took my eyes from Julia...looking up into the face of the man I married.
"Patrick," I breathed, unable to form words as I felt a tear slip down my
cheek. "Oh Patrick...is it really you?" I asked as I reached towards him.
