"So....." Reese said once they were in the car and headed back toward the house "Isn't this an odd position to be in."

She looked straight ahead and rubbed the palms of her hands together, seeing from the rear view mirror that Milo was following.

Then she looked at her friend and grinned half heartedly as they approached the house, the other two quiet for the most part.

As soon as they drew up in the driveway and Sam cut off the engine they got out, Reese holding the door open for Claire and Brady as they climbed out of the back of the car and then closing the door behind them, looking back as Milo exited his own vehicle and looked up at the place Marissa had been raised in.

"Come on in." she motioned for him to follow as they went in the side way, through the garage and then the kitchen door.

Reese put down her food and went over to the sink, turning on the cold water and sticking the stopper into the drain to start filling the sink.

"Pull up a seat," she indicated the island and stools around it as she went over to the freezer, gave Sam a quick 'this isn't going to wait anymore' look and got the ice cube tray from it before dumping it into the sink with the water "Be riiiight with you."

And lo and behold and figuring he might as well see it first hand, she stuck her hands into the icy cold water and watched with a self-mocking grin as the water steamed, bubbled and then started to dissipate.  Not immediately, she noticed, it actually following her lead the more she had concentrated on controlling it over the years.. but it was obvious the water was evaporating.

"Never have a cold mug of coffee again." she murmured almost jokingly.

It had been months since the last time the need had arisen to unload like this -- and she knew this wasn't all of it, but it felt good anyway.

No telling what Milo was feeling or thinking seeing this.
