Lani had finished with the book for the day, and stepped out
of the control
room. She heard a cacophony of voices from the foyer. She went to see what the commotion was and saw Julia and Derek, along with a small group of people she didn't know. "I see we have guests." she said flatly, waiting for them to introduce themselves. She stopped and introduced the small group "Marrissa
Reese, Milo's daughter, Claire Ellison, Brady Turner, Sam Owens and you know the
rest of us. Rest of us, this is an associate with the Luna Foundation,
Lani Tackachi. We're going to be working on some computers if you'd like
to join us? But give me a moment and I'll be right back. We'll be in
the downstairs library."
With that and a quick smile all around, Julia went and
made it to the third floor and had to stop at the stairwell as she wiped her
forehead.
"You're still weak." Patrick spoke from beside her, his
expression concerned "Maybe you should-"
She looked at him and crooked a grin "I'll be fine.
A couple of aspirin and a nap and I'll be back up on my feet in no
time."
Her blue gaze travelled across the third floor, spotting
Derek's bedroom first and then the others. Time for the guessing game, she
thought as she walked forward, package in hand.
She whistled low when she entered the second bedroom and
spotted her personal things on and along the new furniture. The room was
big. She was half tempted to go see how big Derek's was but smirked and
put the package from the mall on the bed and went to the bathroom to get the
aspirin.
First thing's first, she thought as she took them and
turned to regard Patrick "Everything okay?"
"So far so good. Except you."
Julia rolled her eyes and left the equally larger bathroom
"Don't go there, Patrick. I'm not your kid."
Patrick's lips quirked as he raised an eyebrow and asked
dryly "But you're Derek's?"
Julia burst out in surprised laughter "Hell no...errrr...
no."
"But he can get after you about your
health...?"
She shot him a look and headed toward the bedroom door to
head back downstairs "Yes because it's Derek and unless you have a point to
make...."
"Nope, no point to make." Patrick answered casually as he
followed "No point at all.... to make that is."
"You sure you're not the one with a fever?" Julia asked
him, wondering why he was being so confusing but dismissing it as she reached
the first floor.
"I'm going to go hang out with Kat until Rachel turns up."
Patrick excused himself, Julia looking his direction as if just making a casual
visual scan of the room before turning to the
library.
