Sam shrugged, "Until I hear differently, I'm considering him available. I
don't much care what Julia Walker has to say about it at this point, I gave
her a chance say something." She rested her chin in her hands and was quiet
as she thought what Reese was saying over. "I suppose it's possible. So
far, I don't think I've every hurt anyone, unless you count Charles Dudley
in
third grade. I'm usually the one that gets hurt. I guess I can understand
her wanting to protect him, but really the decisions should be his not hers.
If he tells me to get lost, I will."

Reese rolled her eyes at that "Derek Rayne does not come across as a man
that would tell any woman to get lost. All I'm saying is... well I know you
wouldn't do it intentionally like a Ms. Virginia High who we found with your
ex who knew he was in a relationship and still didn't give a damn and went
for him anyway."
"Mind you," she added in a quieter tone, more to herself than Sam
considering she hadn't been there for the particular and very enjoyable - at
least to Reese - episode "His ass deserved that little barbeque I gave
it....."
Then she looked back at Sam and pointed out something she had noticed "I bet
you'd like her if Professor Rayne wasn't in the picture. You two are a lot
alike."
