Derek:
"Paintings of you," Derek asked a bit confused.  How was that possible?  Ria
seemed genuinely alarmed though and if this was the case, he certainly
couldn't blame her.  He wasn't at all sure that she might not be right about
her mental condition, but he'd seen insane before and she just didn't fit
that.  Upset yes, distressed yes, but not insane.  "Perhaps, Christians
death is what is making you vulnerable to the other things," he told her
gently.  "It certainly did with regard to Hilario's journal and that's how
the article works.  It seeks out those feeling desperation.  I'll speak with
Mr. Lyons about those paintings."  He wanted to see them for himself.

Ria:
Ria stood up angrily staring at Derek. The feelings of guilt, disgust, anger,
loathing came bubbling back to the surface. She tried hard not to let the
feelings surface opening her mouth to tell Derek off but quickly closed it
again
composing herself. She knew what Derek thought and he was wrong. "Thank
you, Derek," she said, "but I've had way too much excitement for the moment
and there's the issue of Sloan. Maybe I wasn't right to come back - - not
after all
this time."
