Julia:
"Oh God no..." she reached out and took it with trembling fingers before looking at Derek "She's gone...Derek, Kat's gone."

Derek:
Derek stared at the crucifix for a moment.  This was exactly what he'd been afraid of.  He turned his hazel eyes on the angel.  "Where is she," he demanded assuming he would know.  At the same time he stood up, stilling Julia's hand and taking her with him.

Julia went with him with Michael following, her hand still in Derek's but holding on to it almost as if it were a life line.  She had promised Patrick she'd watch over Kat.  What if...?

She shot Derek a glance as they went up the stairs and to Kat's room and finally inside.  Michael closed the bedroom door in case someone else tried to get in and Julia turned to him "Where did you find this?"

Michael nodded toward the bathroom and Julia slipped her hand from Derek's after a quick squeeze.  Not wanting to but needing to as she went into the bathroom and put either hand, palms down, onto the lavaratory's top, concentrating.

Maybe if she tried to reach her without the necklace...

Her brows creased in concentration, voice low "Kat.. please hear me."

She waited a moment, fighting back the frustration and helplessness at no reply, and walked out of the bathroom and looked at Michael "Where's Patrick?"

"He's in.."

"Not anymore he's not." she told him hoarsely as she Called out to Kat's father.

She looked at Derek, knowing he was fully aware of her draining some of her energy - but also knowing he understood why.  Not that he liked it, but he knew why.

Then Patrick appeared.

"You don't have the authority to do that, Walker.." Michael pointed out dryly, knowing better than to stop her.

"So write me up." she retorted as she turned from Derek and explained the situation to Patrick, who looked back at the same room she had just been in before looking back at her.

He held his hand out for the necklace and she handed it to him, stepping back next to Derek as Patrick looked all about the bedroom and called out to his daughter, using the link she had with the necklace as well as himself "Katherine Corrigan, get back home now."

Julia could barely keep herself from shaking as she tried to sense what else had been here.. what could have taken Kat and made her remove the necklace.  The fact they had known enough about the necklace to have her remove it was enough to scare the hell out of her.

"I'm going to go look in the other realm, where you found her last." Michael offered before disappearing.

Julia could only nod, her gaze torn at what could have happened, even as she realized it couldn't have been traumatic or a struggle for Kat or she would have Felt it.

She looked at Derek, unable to hide her fear from him as she murmured in a tone low enough not to interrupt Patrick "There wasn't a struggle... or anything, Derek.  I would have Felt it.  Wherever Kat is, she's... she's there because she went."

She swallowed and added "But if we can reach her..."

Derek:
Derek felt his his stomach muscles tighten.  He would have rathered if she were taken by force, at least then she would want to come back  If she went by choice she may not wish to do so.    "We have to try," Derek agreed.  His gaze moved to Patrick, he hoped her father could get her attention, wherever she was.  Then he glanced around impatiently for Michael.  They needed to know where she was in order to really do anything.  Simply using astral projection to try and find her was dangerous and would take a very long time.  There were just too many places to look.  They needed to narrow it down some.  And if she wasn't in the other realm, where the hell was she? "How long will it take him to check," he said his voice tense.

Julia:
She tightened her hand in his and looked up, closing her eyes and concentrating, then opening them, just as Michael reappeared beside them.

"She isn't there." Michael reported, jaw tense "She has to be on a mortal astral plain."

Julia nodded once.  That did narrow it down in the big scope of things....but it was still a wide area to look.

Her blue gaze moved over the room and landed on Tuffy.  That was her favorite doll.

She looked at Derek "Is there anything else that Kat holds special.  Something that would give us a psychic link to her?"

Derek:
Derek looked around the room thoughtfully.  "I think the bear is the one thing here that means most to her.  She might have something at her own house that would mean more.  Though.....since she carries that back and forth, my guess is it's probably the thing.  It's the best we have."  He moved towards the bed still holding Julia's hand and picked up the bear.  He turned to look into Julia's eyes.  "I'll do it."

Julia:
She wanted to say no, she even opened her mouth to say as much, but Michael spoke up.

"He would be the most logical to do it.  Both Patrick and he are the disciplinarians in Kat's life."

He looked at the two then at Patrick who turned to them "You should guide Rayne, I'll guide Patrick.  But we have to hurry."

Julia closed her eyes and concentrated on the feel of his hand in hers before looking up at him, gaze worried.

"Be careful, Derek." she whispered as a spark of that fire usually reserved for their 'debates' showed, mixed with other emotions there in her gaze "Promise me you'll be careful."

Michael nodded at Patrick and moved over to the bed.  It would be more comfortable to their bodies if the ones going into the astral plain were as comfortable as possible and laying down was the best position.

Patrick followed the Archangel's silent instruction and lay on half of the bed, leaving room for Derek as looked up at Michael and then closed his eyes.  Michael moved to kneel at where his head lay, putting his hands on either side of his face  "Concentrate on Katherine, and let your breathing flow.  Inhale, exhale..."

Julia knew what they were doing but didn't look their way, her gaze locked on to Derek's as she whispered in a quieter tone "Promise me, Derek."

Derek:
Derek looked down at her.  He wanted to make that promise, but he wasn't sure he could.  He would do whatever it took to get Kat back and that might not allow him to be as careful as he might like.  It might mean taking a risk or two.

"I will be as careful as I can," he told her.  He tried to smile, though he didn't feel much like smiling at the moment.

"I've done this before, don't worry."  He headed towards the bed leading her to it's side and he took his place beside Patrick.

"You can call me back," he added, just in case she got too worried, she did have that option.

Julia:
She knelt at his head, as Michael had with Patrick, but instead of just laying her hands on either side of his head she placed her hands on either side of his head and face touching, gently caressing before stilling and leaning down to kiss his forehead and promising in a low tone "I feel like you're in danger I will, Derek.  Bring Kat back... but you better be with her."

She met his gaze and running the thumb of her right hand against his cheek, out of view of the rest as she whispered "Don't make me come after you.."

It was obviously an empty threat and she didn't bother to hide what she was feeling from her gaze, but she lowered her head in an almost praying position and exhaled slowly, guiding Derek to do the same.

Derek:
"Don't even think about coming after me," he told her.  His voice was gentle yet firm.  He then closed his eyes and began to concentrate.  It had been a while since he'd done this.  He put all his will into moving out of his body allowing Julia to guide him.  In a few moments the task was accomplished and he began moving from plain to plain calling, "Katherine.....Katherine answer me!"  His voice no longer held the gentleness it had with Julia.  It was stern and commanding.  "I'm serious Kat, if you are here you better answer me."
