Michael:
Michael, who had been around before even Earth had been created, knew this trick and followed the image itself. Everything left a trace. Follow the breadcrumbs, another of Julia's sayings. Miranda: Miranda knew he was going to follow him and lead them to another pyramid far away from where they'd actually like to be. Julia: And speaking of Julia, she had reached him finally and latched on to his arm, just as he started to follow. "I'm going." she said. Patrick: "Julia!" Patrick yelled before quickly following. He could feel it. His daughter was in danger! Michael "Cute trick." Michael said once they reached the final destination "But who are you, really? Your spirit is darker and older than that of a child." Miranda: Miranda looked at him and smiled "I'm Miranda" she said in an innocent childs voice.."and Kat belongs to me...so go away and leave us alone..she is a member of my family...she is my sister long lost and I have found her, and YOU can't have her..if you try and take her...you'll kill her.." Michael: He took two steps forward, his aura once again flaring up around him. Miranda: Miranda was unaffected and unafraid of the flare up...she barely noticed it. She had Kat tucked away in another place not knowing what was going on here..all Kat knew was that Miranda was with her, and they were discussing the markings on the wall of a pyramid... Michael: He didn't intend for her to be affected or frightened. The Aura was for himself and what he sought. Miranda may be playing astral tag but it came at a cost. For ever action there was a reaction, no matter the plain, world or realm. Every time she moved, she drained herself and left her trail that much more visible. Now all he had to do was.......... There. Kat:
Kat stared at the picture on the wall in shock. "That looks like me," she said in anstonishment. "Does that mean I get to be a princess?" She liked that idea lot. An Egyptian princess, yes that sounded like fun to her. She reached out and touched the image carved into the stone wall, running her fingers acrossed the intriquetly carved lines. "Cool," she breathed. Derek: In the other plain Derek did wake up and saw Julia standing there, yelling something about Kat being in danger. "Julia? What are you doing here? Go back! I'll get....." pain shot through him making him unable to move or speak for a moment. He had to block out thoughts of Kat and the girl. They were causing this. He concentrated on Julia. It took a long time to get over the angonizing pain, but he was able to follow the others as they pursued Miranda from plain to plain. Back in the room...his physical body was contorting in pain, but in the astral plain, he was blocking it, fighting it. He had to get to Julia, she was going to hurt herself her. Michael: He took Julia by the hand and Showed Patrick the way and went to where the two girls stood, reading, of all things, hyreogliphics. Julia:
"Let her GO!" Julia took a step forward, something flaring about herself but not as brilliant as the Archangel's. She wasn't an angel nor as old as he, but she had been given Gifts and she was using them now to keep her going. A part of her wished for Derek's pressence but it was obvious this punk kid had done something to him as well. "She's not yours!" Patrick:
"She's mine!" Patrick appeared behind them, gaze unflinching as he regarded the one that had taken Kat from her home. Miranda:
Miranda turned and smiled at him "you think so?" she said. "Then go ahead and try and take her, go ahead." The essences had entwined and were pulsating as one now. Even if they took Kat, she'd only find a way back to Miranda. She may have left an astral trail for them to follow, but now it didn't matter, Kat's very being depended on Miranda. Kat would die of a broken heart if they kept her from her now. Only the separation of the sealed essences would save her and Derek for that matter. And Miranda wasn't releasing any information on that at this point, she just reveled in her accomplishment. Kat:
Kat turned her head and looked at the small group crowded into the pyramid. She stared at them curiously. "What's going on? Why are you all here? This is our place to play our special place." They weren't supposed to be here. Miranda:
Miranda looked at Kat "they've come to take you home Kat, I believe they think its time for you to go." Kat:
"They do," Kat gave them all a puzzled look of confusion. "But we're having fun now." Derek: Derek struggled to get to Julia following them straining to get to Julia, fighting the horrible bouts of pain that sought to over take him. Julia needed help, she shouldn't be doing this. He couldn't let let. He arrived in the pyramid exhausted, just in time to see Julia glowing slightly. He stared at her focusing on her. He had do something to help her and Kat.....the pain gripped him again clouding his thoughts. Miranda:
Miranda eyed Derek and soothed his pain a little, "hi Derek" she said cheerfully, "the others think Kat should leave now, but you want her to stay don't you?" she smiled at him sending warmth, the only warmth right now that could sooth him. Derek:
Derek relaxed feeling better andmore clear headed. "Yes, she needs friends her own age," Derek said without hesitation. "Everything is....." he knew he should say fine, but he couldn't do it. He struggled and the pain began to come back, wrenching his body again. Ingrid:
Julia's face was turned away from her, head bowed down next to Derek's, but her shoulders and upper body were tensed. Then, just as suddenly, Derek's body was contorted in obvious pain and she stood, ready to wake her brother up. But she hesitated. Hesitated because she knew that
if Julia or the others were in danger, Derek would still want to be there......
but her brother was hurting.
She reached her hand toward him......she was going to have
to wake him up "Derek..."
Patrick:
Patrick stepped forward and looked at his daughter, expression saddened and hurt as he asked "Your special place? So special you had to lie to us and sneak off to? Special enough that you've scared us all and now your so called friend is hurting those that love you?" He turned his gaze to Julia and Derek, both weakened and
obviously in pain, then looked back at her "It's time to go home,
Katherine. Miranda is not your friend. Come home with us. Your
home.... your family. Come home, Kit Kat."
Kat:
"No she's not," Kat said giggling at such a ridiculous notion. "She's my friend, she wouldn't do that Daddy, don't be silly." She just ignored his question about lying. She didn't care about that anymore. She was happy now. Miranda: Miranda looked towards Kat "yes Kat they think I am not your friend..they say its time for you to go. Do YOU WANT to go Kat?" she asked curiously. Kat:
"Oh no, I don't want to go. I like it here. I have a sister now Daddy, did you know that? See our picture?" Julia:
She was going to go forward but stopped and turned,
Feeling Derek's pressence. She made it to his side and helped him to sit,
raising her hands to gently cup his face as she closed her eyes and started to
envelope him in her aura and look inside of him for the cause of his
pain.
"Hold on, Derek." she whispered, her astral and physical
body moving together as she gently set her forehead against his and shared her
essence with him.
And then she saw it.
The blood.
She started to turn toward Michael, still holding Derek,
blue gaze snapping with barely surpressed anger.
Just as she had Seen it in the girl in the mall, she could
see that something was wrong in Derek.
Derek:
Derek felt Julia holding him and he could feel her draining herself. "Julia no...stop, please I'm fine. Everything's going to be fine. Stop...go back..." Julia:
Tears were stinging her eyes, both with the effort of
trying to cut off Miranda's effect on him by surrounding him with her aura and
the strain they had both been through already.
"I can't." she whispered, still close to him "I'm
not leaving without you and Kat. Do you hear me? I'm not
leaving."
Her voice was low but determined. She couldn't leave
them. Especially not now.
She turned toward Michael {{She's manipulated their blood,
their essense.... from the way they're acting it's in a possession form.. she's
taking over their blood and then them}}
She was still holding Derek as her blue gaze then
travelled across the room. Whatever it was, in whatever form Miranda was
using, it had to be near. She Looked with a Sight gift given her, delving
into everything around them in search of Derek's unique essence.
Patrick:
He stepped aside so that Kat could see the two now
struggling "You call that fun? Katherine SHE'S doing this to them!" he pointed
at Miranda, his voice no longer quiet or soft but hard and demanding "I'm your
father, you KNOW this. I'm telling you to get home NOW.
"As for you -" He started toward Miranda. He was at
the point that he knew his daughter was in mortal and spiritual danger. A
parent, when faced with that, could only see one thing. Get their child
out of danger, no matter what or who was holding them there.
He reached for her and got her by the shoulder "Let my
daughter GO."
Miranda:
Miranda looked at Kat innocently "I don't know what he's talking about Kat." She said "I'm not doing anything." Patrick:
"As for you -" He started toward Miranda. He was at the point that he knew his daughter was in mortal and spiritual danger. A parent, when faced with that, could only see one thing. Get their child out of danger, no matter what or who was holding them there. Miranda:
"Let go of me!" she shouted at him she looked at Kat "is this how your family and friends treat children, Kat?" she looked just as she wanted to look, a little child being manhandled by an adult not her parent... Michael:
"Patrick -!" The spirit wasn't strong enough to go head to
head with whatever this kid was so he stepped up and put himself between the
two, grabbing Miranda instead, pushing her against the wall.
Miranda:
Miranda looked at him with an evil glint "see what I mean, Kat? they like to hurt little children...do you want to go home with people who treat children this way?" Michael:
"He's got the right idea though. I'm in the mood to
toss you in hell myself."
Miranda:
"See the awful things they say?" Miranda said to Kat tearfully. Kat:
Kat was shocked by the things her father was saying and doing and the things the stranger was doing too. The little girl straightened her shoulders and glared at them both. "They're all right," she said motioning towards Derek and Julia. "You're the ones being mean and nasty! I WON'T go home. I don't care what you say! Leave my sister
alone." She moved towards Michael and grabbed on to this arm trying to
break his grip on her friend.
Derek:
Derek stared back into Julia's eyes. He could feel his thoughts coming back together more clearly, the longer she held him. The protection of her aura making it easier to think and though his mortal body still felt the physical pain, his astral one was becoming stronger. The trouble was that he knew this was due to a sacrifice Julia was making. One she had no right to make. He reached out closing his hands on hers in an attempt to release himself of her grip. "Julia....no....I'm all right," and for the moment he was. He looked around the pyramid at the scene before him. "Kat! Come here!" Kat: Kat turned and looked over at Derek. "No! I don't have to do what you say!" She was angry, why was he just sitting there and letting these other people hurt a little kid? Derek: "KATHERINE, Come here right now," Derek roared. Kat: For the first time she saw the aura around him and felt something from it, as it's glow affected her. She felt her stomach turn over and she swallowed hard. She knew she should do what he said, but she didn't want to do it. She wanted to stay with Miranda and help her, but a small shred of the fear she always felt when she did things she knew she wasn't supposed to do came back to her. She didn't know what to do. She felt slightly torn. "No," she said, but her voice was softer and weaker. Horton I felt a great surge of energy somewhere on the astral plain, ahhh, my cue. I had watched enough, now it was time to cement my allegiances. I slipped into the plane, feeling my power flooding through me as I finally felt one with my surroundings. I called out, "Miranda Rhodes, I have come," I announced. |
