Alex was the first to reach Rachel's room and enter, Nick
staying at the door to both be a back up and to give them some amount of
privacy.
Alex moved over to Rachel's bed, hesitant so as not to
spook their friend. She heard something about Kat.
"She's at the house. Derek's watching her." Alex
explained "Rachel you have to get better before you can go to Kat.
You don't want Kat to see you like this, do you?"
She hoped not. Alex didn't want to tell Rachel no
that she couldn't see her daughter, but she wasn't going to let Kat see her
mother during withdraw either.
She helped her friend back in bed and covered her up "As
soon as you're better we'll go see Kat. I promise."
