She made good time in cleaning the kitchen and setting the timer for the morning for the coffee to brew in the automatic peculator.  It was while doing this that she caught the full moon overhead and the clear sky full of stars through the window over the sink and she opened the back door and leaned against its frame to look up at it.  The air was a little cool but nothing she wasn't used to.

She looked down and spotted a bench next to the door and sat, able to hear anyone that might come into the kitchen including a certain Precept.

She grinned to herself and once against regarded the sky.

"Thank You." she whispered as she set the back of her head against the wall and closed her eyes for a moment of thankfulness.

"Something tells me you're not the only one doing that."

Julia opened her eyes and lowered her gaze to smile at Michael, who was standing before him in his human form, one booted foot on the bench and regarding her thoughtfully.

"Nope I don't think I'm the only one." she replied.  The Archangel had always been curious about humans and had taken to asking her different questions when they worked together.  She remembered the time he had asked her what love was, in a human's perspective.

It was her answer he was thinking of now as he stated quietly "And you love him."

Love was someone that was willing to lay down their life with no regard to their own risk in doing so, just so that person could continue to live, grow and discover that which the person had loved most about them and let it grow as well.

Julia's lips quirked as she teased Michael "That's the idea."

The Archangel grinned but was still thoughtful "Why? I mean what about him is it that makes him the one you would do such a thing for?"

Her smile became soft, as did her gaze, as she thought about all the different things  "In a nutshell, everything.  The look in his eyes when he's happy, the way he smiles, his mind, his wit, even his temper although I doubt I'll be admitting that to him," she added before continuing with a humorous tint "I teased him about his accent the other day but.."  she shrugged and looked at Michael "There are so many things... and all of them make Derek Derek."

Michael grinned and sat on the other side of the bench, as if he were riding a horse or something "You two are strong individuals.  It's going to be a.. what do you call it? A blast watching you two grow with the other."

He chuckled appreciatively "The Darkside thought it was hard when you were fighting separate... wait until they get a load of you now."

Julia raised an eyebrow but couldn't help but find the same kind of humor he did.  She felt like she could conquer anything right now, just because she knew Derek was there and would be there - and that he felt the same way she did, although he was more conservative in front of others.

Not that it mattered.  With the way she felt about it, she wasn't going to cover it up but she wasn't going to go shout it from the roof tops either.  There was a balance they had to have because of their work and positions in the Legacy.  She remembered how they had both held back when they realized others were watching after they had first come back.  Had they not been there.....

She gave another chuckle and was glad it was still dark out as she felt heat rise in her cheeks.  Then she focused on Michael, who had been gazing at the stars above and dropped his gaze back to her when she had looked at him.

"I have to finish some things." he said gently, referring to the reason why he was there.

Julia nodded, having already guessed this was going to happen.  There were some things that a mortal shouldn't know about the other realm that she still remembered - both to keep the mortal and heaven safe.

"They've given you the Gift to speak with the dead." Michael continued, reaching out to touch her temple.

And like that, the critical information was gone from her mind.  She remembered things but that which would compromise the other realm were safely wiped away.

"You can continue letting Kat and her father visit from time to time if you wish it.  You won't have the energy to burn like you had though."

Julia shook her head a little to get her equilibrium back and quirked a grin as she admitted "I know.  I'll be careful."

"You better." Michael said, standing  "Otherwise you'll have Rayne to answer to."

It was said in a kind of humorous tone but one with respect.  Julia grinned and set the back of her head back against the wall and watched him fade.

"I'll be around.."

Then he was gone and Julia looked back up at the sky to wait for Derek to arrive "I know."
