Alex came back into the bedroom, bringing Nick a mug of
coffee.
The night had been a long one and Rachel had fallen back
asleep after waking up again with a nightmare.
Alex looked out the window, at the slowly rising sun of
morning and finished off her own cup of coffee "I'm going to go to the house and
get us a change of clothes and fill the others in on what's happening.
Maybe Derek has any ideas on what to do next."
Nick looked up and nodded "I'll keep Rach company if she
wakes up. Try to get her to eat something."
Alex nodded and caught the key ring he tossed her with a
half smile before pausing and saying "If I get the chance... I'm going to talk
to Julia too."
Nick met her gaze for a moment before nodding in
understanding.
"Be careful." He said, meaning driving of course "And
-
"don't hurt the car." she said the words with him before
rolling her eyes and then winking, turning to leave.
"Smart ellic." Nick drawled with a grin as he sat back to
watch over Rachel, Alex leaving and heading toward the
house.
