Alex made it back to Rachel's and unloaded the duffle bags
before heading inside.
She knew Nick would have heard the car and the door so she
waited for him to come down, not wanting to disturb Rachel if she'd been
sleeping.
She knew she was smiling even despite the reason they were
here in the first place.
She could tell that Julia really was okay with
everything.
Nick came down just then, catching her expression and
mirroring it a little as he asked curiously "Go good?"
"Went perfect." she replied, sitting at the breakfast
table as he came over and did the same "Rachel?"
"Asleep." he answered, rubbing the back of his
neck.
Alex got up and went to stand behind him, rubbing his
shoulders and making him groan thankfully.
"And guess what she was doing when I left?" she asked,
knowing Nick would get a good laugh out of it.
"Mmm, what was that?" he asked, laying his head down as
Alex continued.
"Getting the monthly report sent out."
Nick's bark of laughter was answer enough and his quip
made Alex chuckle appreciatively "Reports out on time? Now we know Julia's
back. Sloan's going to have a heart attack."
"He needs one if you ask me." Alex chuckled as she patted
him on the back "Like paperwork is going to keep evil at bay or
something."
"Oh," she added "They'll be here in a little bit to get
Rachel to the House. Just enough time to get cleaned up and
changed."
She pointed to his duffle bag and motioned her hands for
him to go to it.
"Yes ma'am." he joked as he got up and left.
Alex grinned and went to the counter to start a new batch
of coffee.
