"What do you mean she's not dead?" Horton asked incredulously before cursing out a long string of foul words and wishes "Why can't they just damn well DIE when I kill them!?"

"I mean, Horton, you've failed, again." The woman replied, her gaze showing her disappointment "For a man that has such a hatred over another, you sure do have a habit of falling short of completing your task.  And now there's another that has slipped your grasp."

She paused a moment, letting that settle in, before she continued "Now the idea of hurting him so has merit.  I suggest you think about a more... prosperous plan to that end and carry it out.  How goes the plan concerning the poor girl you're driving mad with possession?"

Horton smiled without humor "At the moment she's inside the House, where I want her.  I'll give her a moment of peace and then start the 'visions' again."

The woman sat back and started to smile in evil satisfaction.  She wished she could see the look on Derek's face when the plan was fully laid out and unfolding before them.

She just might have to make a concession about leaving her place of power just to see it.
