"Come on slow poke." Alex called over to Nick as she finished locking up and exiting
the house, going over to open the trunk for him to put the last cast in and closing
it. Then, tossing him the car keys from her earlier use she went over to the
passenger side and got in, fastening her seatbelt.
She and Nick could start on the tests while Julia and Derek got Rachel set in so that
they all had something to start on when the doctor took over Rachel's care.
"Slow poke?" Nick asked with a half laugh as he got into the car and started the
engine "Now, if Julia had been driving I might have a problem with catching up.. but
Derek?"
"Kidding, kidding," he said in the next breath, pulling out of the driveway and
maintaining the speed limit "I think I'm the only daredevil left anyway. If Derek's
letting her drive it means she's a decent driver."
"So learn from it." Alex retorted as they headed home.
Nick just shook his head and continued to drive. It never failed that any number of
the guys picked on his driving, to the point that he picked on it too. But he wasn't
THAT bad of a driver. Just knew how to press the gas when he needed to, that was all.
