She had been under his control for months, to the point that what she thought was her wasn't.  In fact, she had made a deal with the devil.  Or, more importantly, with Horton.

And Horton was about ask for the price.

The vision she was having had her with the one she had craved for so long - but when she wasn't looking, instead focusing on another hysterical vision he was feeding her - Nick's face shifted to the one that truly possessed her and Horton chuckled cruelly.

Just then Jonathan's radio/telephone beeped and he stood to take the security call in the corner of the room.  He read the small message window and saw that not only was he called but so had Nick and the Professor.

They each got the same message simultaneously and Jonathan cursed under his breath - right when a flash of red demon light filled the room.

The real Megan had been found dead in the bay an hour ago.  Whoever was here now was not Megan.

Jonathan looked and pressed twice on the receiver, meaning he was in trouble and unable to verbalize it.

There stood Horton, a cruel smile in place as he tilted his head to the side and asked "Where is that bastard in mourning, Derek Rayne?"

The mourning reference confused him but Jonathan took a step back, looking around for a possible weapon to defend himself with.

Horton took a step forward, intent on getting an answer "Tell me he's broken over Julia's death."

"You're as psycho now as you were as the woman," Jonathan growled, backing up against the door "Julia's alive and well and sure as hell not going to be hurt by the likes of you."

"You LIE!"  Horton howled in anger, reaching out and clamping his hand about the man's throat "She's dead - I saw her!"

Nick was the first to reach the room and tried the doorknob, only to hear the last part of what Horton yelled and taking out his weapon before kicking out with a vicious blow, the door crashing open.

"Sorry about the door, Jonathan." he said before taking aim at Horton and growling "Not sorry for this."

He unloaded his weapon into Horton, one bullet after the other firing into his body and splitting into a cascade of the same fire red light Jonathan had seen earlier.

Horton growled and released Jonathan, who fell and rolled back, rubbing his throat and waving at Nick's comment.

"I'll fix it later." the man coughed as he pressed himself against the door. "Get this bastard out of here!"
