Alex finished with the file and saved them for Julia,
printing out copies for herself, Nick and Derek.
Just then the phone rang and she answered it. It had
been a direct line call so it was someone that knew the number and where it
would end up - or a very lucky goof off.
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's Nick." Nick identified himself, his cell phone
in the recharge and using the nearest pay phone to call in "Phone's charging but
thought I'd check in. The second guy isn't home so I'm going to hang out
and keep tabs on the place, see if he pops up. Let Derek know that I'll
check in at ten."
They talked for a while before he hung up. Alex went
back to scanning the security footage, trying to see if there was something she
had missed the first time.
