Sam was so shocked at the invasion that she couldn't even think or move. No
one had said anything about THIS! Yes, someone was chasing them, but what
the Hell was all this? As she stood there mouth gaping, one of the man
grabbed her. This shot her into action. She struggled clawing at his
steely grip with her hands and kicking her legs backwards. However, she
didn't keep this up for long, because the pressure on her throat made
breathing difficult enough without flailing around. She tried to calme hr
mind, which not easy. She had to think of something else. Be calm, it'll
come to you, you're going to be okay, just calm down. As the man in charge
asked about the artifact, she managed to croak out, "i don't know." Her
throat ached now from the pressure and her labored breathing. Her vision
was getting dim as Julia arrived.

For a moment while the vampire was speaking to Julia, Sam as almost in a
zone far away. HOwever, something he said caught her attention making her
heart sink lower in her chest. Julia and Derek? It was a shock, but it
explained a lot. Why hadn't the woman just said something? She felt like
crying for a moment, but pushed that all away. There wasn't time to think
about that right now. Her face remained, but now blank of all emotion.

BACK AT THE HOUSE:

Derek was glad to hear from Julia. "Nothing much," he admitted. "We've
been doing some research on the object they went after. It would be easier
if we had it here, but we are making a bit of progress. I had hoped it
might tell us something helpful..." he stopped as Julia spoke his name the
urgency catching his attention immediatly. Then the line went dead.
"Julia! Julia!" Oh God....this was supposed to be something so easy, what
had happened? HE told himself not to panic, cells cut off all the time. He
dialed her number, looking over at Nick and Alex, "she was cut off."
