"JULIA!"  There was no answer though he thought he heard something, he wasn't sure.  "JULIA!"  He moved inside the house and noticed the definite signs of a struggle.  Not to mention the ash from burn corpses. Severely burnt corpses.   Nick followed him in, gun pointed down but ready if needed.  His gaze swept the interior where they were before it landed on the sight Derek had already taken in.   "Shit." Nick growled, adding his voice to Derek's as he called "Julia!  Damnit, someone be here!"   That was when he heard the pounding on a door and looked at Derek.  Then he recognized the voice that started yelling out for Derek and grimaced a little.  Nothing against the reporter but something about her never really set well with him although he never admitted it.  And, as crappy as it may be, he had really wished to be hearing Jule's yelling.   "She's not here." Nick told Derek as they moved through the house, Nick covering Derek as he went.  He said what he did about Julia not being here for the mere fact of seeing the corpses and knowing Derek must be going through hell with worry, even if he was keeping it together on the outside.   Then they reached the closet and as soon as it opened Megan was launching herself into Derek's arms.   Nick barely kept the disgust from his face as he moved the gun into the closet, making sure nothing else was there.  Then he helped Milo out and looking at Derek "We can call Jonathan to come pick Megan up.  And Milo too if he wants."   He looked at Derek's friend "Did they say anything that would tell us where they went?"
