Philip sat and nodded greeting at the other two before smiling and reaching over to put his hand over Julia's "I jus' can't believe it.  Well I can bu' .... lord it's good t' see you.  Is that why Sloan is here?  He looks like he's eaten a batch of bad lemons..."

Julia chuckled at that, just as one of the guards entered from the back door, spotted her and came over, handing her a piece of paper.  It was the list of items Sam and the guard had gotten at the store.  She looked it over and nodded, signing off on it before the guard left again, nodding at the others in silent greeting.

Jonathan couldn't help but grin drooly "I'd say it's more along the lines of Julia helping run the house without being reinstated.  You aren't even on the payroll are you?"

He was speaking of the Luna Foundation of course, while the others were thinking Legacy.

Julia shrugged "I haven't asked actually, just helping Derek until he says different."

"Well, I wouldn't worry about it." Barbara said as she stirred the contents in her cup and set the spoon on a napkin at her right elbow "Derek hires who he wants, whether Sloan approves or not.

"And from what I hear," she added as she picked up her cup and titled it a little at Julia in a kind of recognition to the reference "You've been nothing but a positive influence.  Let Sloan stew if he wishes.  He calls the shot in London and gets his reports on time.  We should all be so lucky."

"Thanks." Julia replied, meeting the woman's gaze and realizing Barbara was talking about more than just the paperwork and blinking once.  Derek's mother knew.....

She looked at Jonathan who raised his hands as if to say it wasn't him before she concentrated on her juice.

Oh boy.
