Cassandra could only blink at them. Didn't they realize she was only being
cautious? As for medical records, they could be forged and the witness
hadn't been heard from yet.
Derek felt heat rising in his face. He wasn't sure if it was his anger or
if he was just getting over the current bout of naussea, but he didn't feel
quite so sick anymore. "Cassandra, that was uncalled for," he chastised
her, his jaw tight and voice steelly. "You have no proof that Julia isn't
everything she claims. Until you have some concrete evidence, which you
will never have, I suggest that you treat my wife with the courtesy she
deserves." He spun around, which made him feel slightly dizzy and queasy,
and followed Julia into the bathroom, allowing the door to slam behind him.
He kneeled down beside her, pulling her hair back and holding it gently.
"Everything is going to be all right, she didn't know what she was saying."
