Julia had just taken a bite out of the sandwich when the knock came at the
door that it was time to return.
Her gaze moved to Derek's as she chewed and swallowed, then held another
corner of the sandwich out to him "Take a bite and I'll feel better. Unless
your stomach is still bothering you?"
She studied his features with concern, trying to decipher whether he was in
fact feeling better or not and noting that he at least wasn't in a cold
sweat anymore.
Derek didn't feel especially hungry, but he didnt' want Julia to worry about
something so trivial. So, he took the piece of sandwich and ate a bite of
it. It tasted surprisingly good He swallowed and stood up, regretting the
fact that he didn't have time to eat more. "I'm fine," he assured her and
then took her hand and started back to the tribunal room.
