"Megan?" Julia called out to the reporter, opening the office door that had
been written in the note. She saw the reporter at a desk and the woman
looked up as she entered. Julia then held up the items that had been in the
envelope, not sure what was going on "Where did you find this?"
Megan put her pen down and nodded at the computer to her left "I pulled it
up from one of my old stories after I-"
Her expression turned sheepish as she looked back at Julia and said
apologetically "After I ran you through a background check."
She left it at that, both women knowing why she did the check. So she went
on to explain.
"I saw a family picture and his face looked familiar, so I looked. I saved
it," she said as she got up and motioned for Julia to sit "In case you
wanted to look at it yourself."
