And she was fairly sure Jane would pick up on her comment about things going on everywhere; Kristin had been a bit surprised that Jane hadn't called San Francisco when Julia's trial occurred; she was certain Jane had known about it. And she wasn't entirely sure how she was going to bring up the question of Amber's injury--coming right out and accusing your Precept of attacking another member of the House wasn't something she did often.
Jane's left eyebrow raised. She heard what Kristin said, as well as what the younger woman hadn't said. Jane hadn't asked about the 'things' going on everywhere. She was a Precept. She knew the moment the decision was made about Julia Walker now Rayne. "And the 'things going on everywhere'," she asked "Have halted enough for you to finally check in with your Precept?" "What, you didn't think you could pick up the phone in between the trial verdict and sitting in the isle of Derek's wedding to let us know how things were going?" Jane met the other's gaze, unbending as was her usual way "Or did you not want to call in because you are once again thinking of changing Houses on us?"
